For over thirty years I was a Consultant Ophthalmic Surgeon attached to the North West Regional Health Authority. I am still in private practice. I am a Member of the European Society of Cataract and Refractive Surgeons.

In the last twenty years I have prepared over three thousand reports in relation to brain and eye injuries and medical negligence. 47% of my instructions have been from solicitors acting for Claimants, 47% have been from solicitors, insurance companies and loss adjusters acting for Defendants and 6% have been joint instructions.

I have been approved by the Association of Personal Injury Lawyers as a First-tier expert witness in my speciality. I have also been approved by the UK Register of Expert Witnesses as an Expert Witness in my speciality. I was a member of the Council of the Manchester Medico-Legal Society. I am a member of the London Medico-Legal Society.
